Development of People Leaders

This organization realized they needed to strengthen their existing leadership bench before tackling their emerging talent pipeline. That's why they created "Leadership Essentials" - a program tailored specifically for managers and directors who were ready to level up their leadership game.

The program was designed internally (by us) but facilitated by an external leadership expert. This gave participants the benefit of both insider organizational knowledge and fresh outside expertise. In total, 42 leaders participated from across different departments.

The program focused on these critical skills:

  • Emotional Intelligence (using DiSC assessments)

  • Decision Making

  • Influence

  • Culture and Engagement

  • Innovation

  • The Art of Delegation

  • Feedback & Difficult Conversations

What made this program special was how it served as a testing ground. The feedback and results obtained from these experienced leaders directly shaped what would be emphasized later in the Emerging Leaders program. They could see firsthand which concepts resonated most and created real change.

The program didn't just end after three days. Each participant left with a peer accountability partner to keep the momentum going. They also received access to specially curated LinkedIn Learning resources to continue developing in specific areas.

The Leadership Essentials program created a common leadership language across the management ranks. When the organization later rolled out their Emerging Leaders initiative, they already had managers who understood and could reinforce these concepts, creating a consistent leadership approach throughout the organization.
